There was the official handover in the offices of the Molise region and the new governor has taken office, Donato Toma. Some of his statements, however, do not leave me alone Molise hunters. Toma responded to the good luck of his predecessor, Paolo Di Laura Frattura, with a clarification. In his opinion it would be better to say "Long live the wolf", As "We are environmentalists and animalists".
The gaffe was served in full, on the other hand we are talking about a region with a very high hunting vocation and with an important number of licenses for the carrying of weapons or rifles. One of the main emergencies of Molise, then, is represented by the wild boar, addressed with targeted interventions and never completely eradicated. Therefore, speaking of animalism and environmentalism is not the right first step. However, Toma stressed that he was open to constructive discussions with everyone, journalists, local authorities and other stakeholders.
In short, there will be a close and direct relationship with the territory. Among other things, on the occasion of the regional elections in April, the local representatives of the Animalist Movement they had confessed that they were not culturally ready to demand the closure and abolition of hunting in this region.
