Lorenzo Croce, number one ofAIDAA (Italian Association of Defense of Animals and Environment), he returned to talk about a topic with which he had discussed a lot several months ago. We are talking about the hunter priests, more precisely of the data concerning them in relation to the hunting season 2014-2015. We are talking about three years ago and based on these numbers the priests who go hunting were about 200.
A few weeks before the start of the 2017-2018 season, however, they would be less than 40, therefore, a fifth less: these are those who have renewed their license and Croce underlined the decrease compared to 36 years ago, the Present in several = 70% in particular. According to the animal rights association, the reasons are two. The first is represented by the advanced age of the priests, while the second refers to theintervention of some bishops that would have dissuaded these hunters, guilty of "shooting other creatures of God".
Croce then cited the story of Don Luciano Bardesone, a parish priest who had two pistols stolen during a robbery in the rectory in the province of Turin. In November, the president of AIDAA wrote a letter to none other than a Papa Francesco to make him aware of this phenomenon and invite him to excommunicate the priests who practice hunting, considered in contrast with the principles dictated by Christianity.
