THEArci Caccia dell'Umbria following a frank discussion with the other hunting associations, it decided to present its proposal for Hunting Calendar to the Region. We have decided to continue our line as a result of the comparison with Federcaccia, Enalcaccia, Libera Caccia, CPA and ANUU, we could not find the summary on the proposals. Given that for Arci Caccia it is of primary importance that the hunting calendar for the new season is protected from possible appeals, with the risk of running into suspension or curtailment of hunting periods, all this in order to guarantee certainty and tranquility in exercising a passion.
We have proposed to the Umbria Region to insert only the turtledove species in the first two days of pre-opening, as we considered it appropriate, also following a discussion with our members, to move the wood pigeon and all the other aquatic species to the third of September in order to end the hunting season at the end of the month of January. We were not convinced by the proposals made by Enalcaccia and Federcaccia to be able to collect the wood pigeon in pre-opening and then suspend the sampling and resume from 3 October, as this conflicts with the sentences already issued by the Supreme Court and Council of State.
What is different for the turtledove, in the proposal we sent to the Region, pre-opening was foreseen on 1 and 5 September for the turtle dove species only, but following the response sent by the Ministry of the Environment to the National Associations in consideration of the lack of national management plan of the species hunting is not allowed, therefore it will be necessary to wait for the approval of the plan in the State-Regions Conference in the coming months, when it is approved with the assignment of national quotas, each application will be conditioned on the prior activation of an effective killing reporting mechanism, also considering the current shortcomings in the reading of hunting cards. As for the wild boar we have proposed to the Region diversified openings between Perugia and Terni, Perugia October-December and Terni November-January, it seems to us a possible solution in consideration of the fact that in past years this happened.
This solution was proposed in compliance with the various provincial realities, which have different hunting traditions. The Councilor in the consultation did not close the doors to the possibility of diversified openings for wild boar as long as there is an agreement between the Associations. While we do not agree on the possibility of opening the fighter in pre-opening for then close and reopen, which appears to be an unnecessary complication for hunters.
