The ruling of the Regional Administrative Court in favor of environmental appeal and the 5 Star Movement could jeopardize the hunting season in Trentino, but the Province of Trento has reassured the hunters. The commissioner Michael Dallapiccola he explained how the activity is absolutely not in danger and during the next week the topic will be discussed with the Wildlife Service and the Provincial Advocacy. Environmentalists have contested the possibility of hunting both in wandering and stalking form.
The ruling of the Constitutional Court is expected with some trepidation, however the climate among Trentino hunters seems to be more serene. A legal text that can be relied upon is the Regional Law number 30 of 1964, the one that governs hunting in Trentino Alto Adige. As specified by the Trentino Hunters Association, there is no need to choose between the two forms of hunting, given that the Trentino law is based on the reserve system, with the hunter who can only go to the reference one.
ACT is sure that the start of the season will be regular, a point of view shared by Claudio Eccher, number one of the Trentino Canine Association. Failure to choose between the two types of hunting is not considered a mistake, as it is 100% compliant with the law. The impression is that a pretext has been found to attack the hunt and put a spanner in the works before the start of the hunting season.
