There are less than two weeks left to start hunting season in Trentino, but there is a big question mark that scares hunters. The Regional Administrative Court of Trento accepted the appeal of four animal welfare and environmental organizations on the provincial hunting law. In particular, the exercise of hunting in a wandering and stalking form was contested. The rule is considered contrary to national law by environmentalists and the judges proved them right.
Now the Constitutional Court will have to rule. Opening is at risk, though Robert Packer, number one of the Sheds from Trentino, tried to spread optimism. Among other things, the appeal was not presented only by the associations, but also by Movement 5 Stars, an absolute novelty in this sense. According to Paccher, we have to wait a few more days to get a clearer picture of the story, especially the effects it could have on hunting in Trentino.
Sheds also have to deal with other problems. In particular, there is still no resolution to change the size of hunting stalks. In addition, the category endured the fewest number of days available for the cesena hunting. The season is about to open, but with a sharp and heavy sword of Damocles looming menacingly.
