Distant controversy
Ivo Amico, provincial president of Federcaccia Ancona replied with a note to the article signed by Danilo Baldini, LAC Marche Delegate, which appeared yesterday in the local press and concerning the Lupo and the recently approved decree on "Management and containment of wildlife".
The reality of the facts is far away
“Apart from the banalities and the untruths, as usual 'the friend' Baldini' conveys pro domo his arguments of Disney's animalism, totally far from the reality of the facts (only one: the wolves now descend near the inhabited centres, with less fear of man, to follow the ungulates in search of less difficult food and, documented, prey on dogs and cats) - writes Federcaccia Ancona - As for the carelessness on the pseudo breeders and the 'holy hand' of the Maremma, Abruzzo, shepherd still doing his job, I invite Danilo to move for a couple of winter months to our Surviving Apennines, with the shepherds of the homonymous flocks. The wolf is a magnificent animal, and the work of cultural growth, as usual, started late and with approximation (done well it could help).
Species control
On wild boars - continues the note from President Amico - he affirms factual truths (although it seems scientifically proven that the Italian wild boar is not hybridized with Eastern European breeds). In countries close to ours: France, Switzerland, Slovenia but also further north, the species is controlled pragmatically and certainly not for playful pleasure, so that coexistence is 'sustainable'. As a hunting manager, defender of hunting as history, culture and, above all, with measure and respect for all wild animals, avoid identifying any control as hunting, which has nothing to do with this ancient passion (when it is such) and that this thankless task is not entrusted to hunters. If anything, some bodies of the State are appointed to do so (source: FIDC).
