Three days ago, Tuesday 21 May 2019, the Regional Administrative Court of Campania decided to cancel the plan for the wild boar management in this area, a resolution approved last summer (to be precise the August 7th, 2018). After less than a year we have to deal with this choice of judges who have agreed with the thesis of WWF, supported by APS SOS Natura. In short, hunters do not have the opportunity to pursue the activity in the protected areas, not even through selection hunting.
According to the Campania TAR, in fact, environmentalists must be supported with regard to some principles, first and foremost the prohibition to carry out control plans of populations of wildlife without there being an experiment of effective ecological methods. Among other things, the so-called Boars Plan was judged as illegitimate due to the absence of the VAS procedure required (acronym that identifies the Strategic Environmental Assessment).
For all these reasons he was rejected and annulled for violating the law. It awaits now a replica from the hunting world, also because it is not the first resolution concerning ungulates that is first challenged and then suspended despite the fact that the emergency is very much felt in every area of the country.
