Il Stazzano Dog Training Camp, in the province of Alessandria, will be the venue for an interesting event organized by the Ligurian regional headquarters ofNational Free Hunting Association. We are talking about an Easter contest of practical hunting on quail with shot, a test which is open to all and which is therefore destined to attract a good number of participants. The race will take place Sunday March 13 and it will be a special way to celebrate Easter in advance. Which regulation will be in force and what needs to be done to take part? The participation fee established by Libera Caccia is equal to twenty euros for each single shift.
The rules to be respected are the typical ones established by the National Dog Association Italy, so it is necessary to explain the most important aspects. The rules are the same as for all game that is traditionally hunted with the pointing dog, both sedentary and migratory: in the list there is not only quail, but also gray partridge, pheasant, red partridge, Sardinian partridge, rock partridge, woodcock, snipe and many other birds. The test in question involves the shot, so it will be important first of all the search for the animal, intelligent and tidy, as well as able to guarantee an effective exploration of the terrain.
The judges will also evaluate the typical style of the breed to which the dog belongs. No less important is the typical gait of the breed, which must be more or less fast depending on the nature of the terrain chosen for the test. Each dog will have the task of maintaining contact with its handler, showing himself obedient to the calls, ready to direct research, otherwise you can risk the penalty. Other fundamental details for the final score are the solid, decisive and expressive firmness, the spontaneous consent and the correctness of the whip and the shot. The meeting was set by Libera Caccia at 7:30 on Sunday at the Training Camp.
As already stated, it does not matter that the participating subjects are registered with other hunting associations. The municipality of Stazzano has just over two thousand inhabitants and is located at the confluence of the Borbera stream in the Scrivia, to be precise in the last part of the Ligurian Apennines, with the Colle Albarasca and Mount Spineto to represent the main altitudes. Wildlife is very present in the area: among other things, recently there has been talk of Stazzano also in relation to sightings of wolves, with a specimen hit by a car in transit.
