In addition to interesting updates from the Veneto, to be precise from the Monte Pizzoc station, and from Lombardy (the weekly notes on the migration pass are now an unmissable appointment), important news has come also from Trentino Alto Adige. We are talking about the Bocca di Caset ringing and monitoring station, which was activated again last August (on that occasion the presence of the first bird, a black tit was detected).
In fact, the Trentino facility has announced the arrival of the first redwing thrush, which has slightly anticipated the times. The species was classified just this year among those SPEC 1 by Birdlife International, therefore seriously threatened and in a bad state of conservation, but it is still huntable in our country.
La Bocca di Casset station it rises near Monte Tremalzo, more precisely in the municipality of Ledro, in the province of Trento. Since 1990 this pass has become a privileged place for what concerns theobservation of the diurnal migration of birds. Three years later, however, this permanent station was born, essential for monitoring post-nuptial migration in the northern region.
