The revision path of the Valle d'Aosta hunting fauna plan, the censuses aimed at defining the consistency of the regional wildlife heritage, the organization of the districts and sections of the Regional Committee for hunting management are the topics dealt with in the meetings between the Region and the Valle d'Aosta hunting world. In addition to Councilor Davide Sapinet, the Director and officials of the Flora and Fauna Office of the Natural Resources and Forestry Department and the President and Vice President of the Regional Committee for Hunting Management participated. “The meetings in the area - says Councilor Sapinet - represented a valid opportunity to grasp the important role of the hunting world, not only with respect to the function of controlling the fauna, but also for the constant presence on the territory.
A presence that, also thanks to the organization of the 'corvées', allows the fundamental garrison of the mountain, in close collaboration with our breeders and local communities and which plays a primary role in regulating our natural habitat. I saw a great passion in hunters, often handed down for generations, and a profound competence ". Even the discussion on the various species in distress, such as the roe deer, or at risk, such as the lagomorphs, or even on those that need constant monitoring, such as wild boar, deer or wolf, has found a great interest.
Finally, ample space was dedicated to the organization of sampling control centers, their operation and the relationship with Forest stations, as well as the training of hunters, a central element for a correct hunting activity, and the training of dogs. In the next days further meetings will be organized, more technical, to define the preparation of the new Regional Hunting Wildlife Plan (Valledaostaglocal.it).
