Suspicious hunting surveillance
ACR, ACV, CONF.AVI and FCR ask the Regional Council of Veneto to convene an urgent meeting to ensure homogeneous application of the regulations in force in this territory. The acronyms just mentioned said they were concerned about what has been happening for some time in this area regarding hunting supervision.
Behaviors to explore further
Here is what we read in the joint press release of the associations: “In recent days we have received news of actions by some supervisory bodies which are causing confusion and strong concern among many who practice hunting in Veneto. The often subjective interpretations of these bodies in the application of current regulations are creating strong concerns and evident tensions among those practicing hunting who ask to be able to carry out their activity in compliance with current regulations. We believe it is unacceptable that the citizen hunter should remain at the mercy of subjects who come to control him without the citizen himself being guaranteed legal certainty. In some cases the supervisory bodies even ignore the existence and validity of current regional regulations, claiming to limit themselves to applying only state or community ones".
Urgent meeting
The note then continues: "In particular, these supervisory bodies question:
1) The legitimacy of article 20 of Regional Law 50 of 1993
2) The legitimacy of the possession, detention and use of live decoys
3) The legitimacy of DGR 1385 of 2017 on the recording of the animals killed on the regional hunting card.
Also to promptly address the highlighted issues, raised by some supervisory bodies fatally in the most important part of the hunting season, we ask the Regional Council to convene an urgent meeting with the regional managers of all the hunting associations in Veneto, also in the presence of the regional managers of the supervisory bodies, in order to guarantee correct and homogeneous application of the regulations and, at the same time, guarantee legal certainty to thousands of enthusiasts who have already paid large concession fees".
