During yesterday morning, Sunday 21 January 2018, some volunteers from the non-profit organization Italian animalists have traveled the countryside of Viterbo “Armed” with trumpets, whistles, lids, pots and ladles. The intent was clear from the start, that is, to put people on the run woodcocks, jays and other animals, preventing them from being shot down by hunters. The operation has been defined "siren", that is to say an ecological walk in which the abandoned shells were also collected.
If the initiative had been taken in Veneto it would have been there a beautiful and good crime, That of the hunting disorder, as required by a law passed just a year ago. In this case, however, there will be no consequences, despite the obvious obstacles to regular and legal activity.
The Italian Animalists have complained about the presence of shells and the possibility of increasing the damage to health, then underlining how in the territories where hunting is more widespread, one hunter out of three has been lost. However, some clarifications must be made, given that it is precisely the hunters who take action in the first person for this type of cleaning, showing great sensitivity towards the environment, in addition to the great civic and social sense.
