As disclosed by the Sardinia Region, all island hunters who want to participate in the next one wild boar hunting and who have not submitted the applications within the terms established by law, may be the documents between 2 and 10 November next. The Project Unit for the Eradication of African Swine Fever has published the provision, which is nothing more than an addition to the extraordinary eradication program for the three-year period 2015-2017.
The terms had expired on 30 July, more precisely the applications for hunting in derogation in the infected areas. Communications had to be submitted instead by 30 September for non-infected territories. The regional law imposes a ban on hunting wild boar in the non-registered form, unless it is a authorized or registered subjects. Once these new applications have been submitted, there will be the authorization provision for the requests.
The Project Unit intends to collect as many samples as possible, so it has tried to meet the demands of all the hunters. The sampling in the infected areas will start next December 1st and will end on January 29th 2018. During this same period, applications submitted from 2 to 10 November will allow the culling of ungulates in areas not infected with the virus.
