After Bologna and Rimini, now too Ravenna. The data relating to hunting in Emilia Romagna they are enriched by a new province. The total number of Ravenna hunters is in decline, even if we are talking about one of the highest in the region. From 2000 to today it has passed from 8779 to 5132 badges, more than 3 thousand fewer in 17 years.
Furthermore, the Province has lost a thousand hunters in the space of four years, while in the last twelve months the decline has been equal to 260 hunters. After Bologna and Forlì-Cesena, there is Ravenna as the most representative province from the hunting point of view, without forgetting its high incidence. 1,3% of the citizens residing in this area of Emilia, in fact, have a passion for hunting, a percentage lower only than that of Forlì-Cesena (1,62%).
The reasons for the decline are easily understood. First of all, the costs and prohibitions are excessive and the hostility on the part of public opinion certainly does not help. The Emilian hunters feared, among other things, a postponement of the start of the 2017-2018 hunting season after the Region had decided to evaluate some requests from environmentalists and animal rights activists following the fires and drought of the summer months.
