Archery, Targa and Para-Archery World Championship: The program of the Archery World Championships to be held in Turin from 3 to 17 July 2011 has been presented.
ROME - The "World Archery, Targa and Para-Archery Championship, Turin 22" was presented on the morning of February 2011, 2011, at the Palazzo Civico in Turin, scheduled for July 3 to 17, 2011.
On this occasion, the Turin 2011 Organizing Committee signed, with the Fondazione ORDER Mauriziano and the Ente Parco Naturale di Stupinigi, the agreement that will see the main venue of the competitions in the Palazzina di Caccia and the Parco di Stupinigi, which will be flanked by piazza Castello in Turin for the dispute of the finals and for the awards ceremony. Present at the event the president of Col Tiziana Nasi with the local authorities and the president of Fitarco, Mario Scarzella.
“It will be a unique championship in the history of archery in many respects - said Scarzella -. In addition to the formidable historical scenario of the two competition venues, precisely in the year of the celebrations for the 150th anniversary of the unification of Italy (nine months of exhibitions and events, offered by the city of Turin, the first Italian capital, to reflect on national unification , ed), the World Cup will represent the only valid test for qualifying for the London 2012 Olympics and Paralympics.
And, above all, for the first time, the competitions for able-bodied and Paralympic athletes will be held together in a single event. We will honor the celebrations for the unification of Italy in the best possible way, I'm sure ”.
The numbers of the event are impressive, which is fully part of the 'Experience Italy 150' circuit: we are talking about 1500 athletes from 80 countries, who will compete in the suggestive scenarios of the Palazzina di Stupinigi for the qualifying and eliminatory rounds, and in the Piazza Town castle for the finals.
Also present at the press conference were the Azzurri Marco Galiazzo, Athens 2004 Olympic gold medalist and the 2008 Beijing Paralympic Elisabetta Mijno from Turin.
The World Championships in Arco 2011, in terms of promotion, do things in a big way: starting from April 10th, an illustrative tour that will cross 15 cities in northern Italy, between Piedmont and Lombardy, starting from Cherasco (CN) .
During the promotional stages, animated by the members of the national teams, demonstrations will be held in collaboration with the local archery clubs, within which it will be possible to try out the discipline.
Returning to the competitions for the disabled, we would like to point out that tonight, at about 19 pm on the thematic channel Raisport 1, a summary of the last Italian Indoor Para-Archery Championships, held in Terni at the PalaFitet, will be broadcast. The broadcast will also be visible on the digital terrestrial satellite and on the Rai website, in streaming. (by the Cip)
