The circular of the dicastery
We report what was established in a circular from the Ministry of Health: "The undersigned General Management has received a request from the National Free Hunting Association regarding the possibility of derogating from the provisions of article 9, paragraph, 1 letter ii) of the provision manager no. protocol 30800 of 5 December 2023, which provides for the ban on the use of the live decoys in question in zones A and B referred to in the State-Regions Agreement, rep. 125/2019".
Domestic and wild birds
“In this regard, an opinion was requested from the National Reference Center for Avian Influenza at the IZS delle Venezie, in order to evaluate the risk of this derogation in light of the current epidemiological situation relating to high-capacity Avian Influenza. pathogenicity in both domestic and wild birds at European and national level. The Reference Center believes that, at present and with the information currently available, it is not possible to assess the risk associated with the use of such recalls".
Necessary health checks
“This is also based on the extreme variability of the methods of detention and use of boosters, the guarantees provided by their users in mitigating the risk and the actual practicability of the necessary health checks. Furthermore, the current epidemiological situation of highly pathogenic avian influenza sees continuous confirmations of cases in wild birds throughout Europe and outbreaks also in domestic poultry. Therefore, the request for a derogation on the use of live calls referred to in the object cannot be accepted to date".
