Green light from the Ligurian regional council, on the proposal of the vice president and regional councilor for Agriculture, Hunting and Fishing Alexander Piana, to the hunting calendar for the 2021 / 2022 season. Hunting in Liguria in the allowed forms and areas, for most species and with significant variations, opens on the third Sunday of September and closes on 31st January. The main changes include, for example, the suspension of pochard and lapwing hunting, the application of the National Management Plan for lark hunting, the adoption of the frost protocol for the woodcock species, hunting sampling based on ATC plans (territorial hunting areas) and CA (alpine areas) for the pheasant between 1 December and 31 January, and the reduction to a single additional hunting day in the period between 1 October and 30 November for redwing and cesena.
The planned closures are: January 20 for the collection of woodcock, for thrush, cesena and for aquatic birds (mallard, moorhen, coot, teal, pintail, wigeon, shoveler, gargane, gadwall, whisk, snipe, water rail and tufted duck), November 30 for partridge, red partridge, January 31 for wood pigeon, song thrush, black and gray crow, jay and magpie.
“The calendar - says vice-president Piana - is attentive to the management of hunting and the safeguarding our habitat to seek a balance made possible by the long process of implementation, developed with scientific insights and various participatory moments ".
