In four days, Friday 20 October 2017, there will be a meeting at the “Don Bosco” Oratory in Castelnovo ne 'Monti (province of Reggio Emilia) which will involve hunters on a highly topical topic. The appointment was organized by National Park of the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines and will serve to administer a wolf questionnaire. The hunters will have to fill it in completely anonymously: in this way you will have useful information on the species and its management, so as to address the topic in a more specific way, gathering everyone's opinions.
Since the question is important, the maximum participation. After risking extinction, the wolf has returned to the territory of this Park. The repopulation of ungulates for hunting purposes and the progressive abandonment of mountainous areas on the part of man were fundamental for this return, while in the seventies of the last century the situation was completely different.
The damage quantified by farmers is quite substantial, given that it is 300 euros for each sheep killed, or even more for horses and calves. The requests for intervention were numerous and the questionnaire was also designed to understand how to deal with the emergency.
