Arci Caccia Toscana, Enalcaccia Toscana, ANLC Toscana and Italcaccia Toscana have published the following joint statement: “We have read with extreme perplexity the agencies that report what emerged in the conference organized by the CIA in Florence on Thursday 27 November.
If we agree with the leaders of the association when they are clamoring for a review of the Law 157 / 92 and an enhancement of the game meat supply chain, we absolutely cannot share any idea that goes in the direction of a privatization of hunting and wildlife management. So we will fight any hypothesis that you foresee an ownership relationship between game and landowners, possibility of "private" intervention by farmers in containment and even more the formation of "armed groups" of salaried operators to replace the public management of hunters.
Of course, we stand in solidarity with farmers who are harmed by ungulates, in fact, the compensation money comes from our pockets, but we will oppose by any means any attempt, blatant or disguised, to go towards an abolition of Article 842, the foundation of hunting as we know it. As well as we opposed the authorization for the amendment of new private institutions in contempt of wildlife programming. Rather, we make a strong appeal to farmers to tackle hunting problems together, reaffirming the centrality of social hunting. We look forward to the convocation of that common work table, for which the National CIA was also committed ”.
