Sergio Berlato, coordinator for the Veneto of Brothers of Italy-AN and president of the Third Permanent Commission of Regional Council, has decided to submit a question for written answer to the regional council. The goal is to understand if the sentence of the Council of State on the skills of zoophile guards has actually been applied. As pointed out by Berlato, a distinction must be made between the guards who have been appointed through a decree of the Prefecture and those who are appointed by law, as the Ministry of the Interior has also clarified.
Those with prefectural appointment have limited functions, while the others have the possibility to supervise hunting and fishing, an option also provided for by the National Hunting Law. The Council of State further reiterated this diversity, limiting the activity of the private security guards of the zoophilic and protectionist associations.
The illegitimate sanctions necessitated several lawsuits against the provincial administrations and which ended with dismissals and annulments of the minutes. In short, the guards were not properly trained and as a result many hunters were acquitted. It seems that in the province of Vicenza we are trying to evade the sentence, so the questioning is as urgent as ever.
