The Department of Agriculture, Sport, Tourism and Culture of the Liguria region has sent a letter to the Territorial Areas of Hunting and to the Alpine Districts regarding the completion of the contingents of wild boar which can be shot down as far as the hunting season 2016-2017. As explained by the regional sector dealing with mountain and wildlife policies, the failure to complete these contingents yesterday, Sunday 18 December 2016.
The regulatory reference in this case is the Decree number 4045 of last September 7th. For this reason the hunting period of the ungulate will continue also in the last days of this month of December and also in January. The actual conclusion will come when the aforementioned quotas have been completed.
The Ligurian wild boars had also been talked about last summer. Indeed, the Cinque Terre National Park decided in July to force hunters to pay for the meat of the slaughtered wild boars: after the first animal hunted, completely free, a tariff has been established which provides for the payment of 1,50 euros for each kilogram of meat.
