ACV-CONFAVI and Enalcaccia: Vicenza, great success of the hunters' event held last January 25 to express dissent for the new Wildlife Hunting Plan.
Great success of the Veneto hunters' event, organized for Saturday 25 January at the Vicenza Fair by the Associazione Cacciatori Veneti-CONFAVI, the Enalcaccia Fishing and Shooting Association, the Association for the defense and promotion of Rural Culture, Foundation for Rural Culture-Onlus. More than 2.500 hunters flocked to attend the initiative organized to illustrate to all political forces the determined opposition of hunters towards the new proposal for the Regional Hunting Wildlife Plan adopted by the Veneto Regional Council on the proposal of the Northern League councilor Daniele Stival. The large Palladio hall of the Vicenza Fair was not enough to contain all the people who came to give support to the organizers of this beautiful and very popular event. Given the massive turnout of the public, the organizers had to ask the Fair Authority to make available two other adjoining rooms with as many giant screens to allow all those who were unable to enter the main hall to follow the event.
After the introduction to the meeting by the President of the Veneti-Confavi Hunters Association Maria Cristina Caretta and the President of the Enalcaccia PT Association Tarcisio De Franceschi, who explained the reasons that led them to organize the Vicenza event, the Hon. Sergio Berlato as National President of the Foundation for Rural Culture-Onlus. Hon. Sergio Berlato, making use of the maxi screens in the Palladio room and the adjacent rooms, projected the text of the proposed new Regional Hunting Wildlife Plan, highlighting some of the main contents which, if approved by law by the Regional Council, would entail the decimation of the remaining hunters of the Veneto.
In recalling that in this singular proposal for a new Regional Hunting Wildlife Plan presented by the Veneto Regional Council, among the many atrocities, an increase in the membership fee charged to hunters, up to six times the current one, is envisaged to pay the damage caused by wildlife; the drastic reduction of the huntable territory; the raising of hunting density indices with the consequent expulsion of a considerable number of hunters from the current ATCs and Alpine districts; the exclusion of hunters from the right to participate in the assembly of members of the ATC; the application of new, additional and unacceptable restrictions to the exercise of hunting, the Hon. Sergio Berlato did not hesitate to define the proposal for the New Wildlife Hunting Plan as unclean and inadmissible, inviting the Regional Council to withdraw it and to better spend the 183.000 euros stolen from Veneto hunters to pay some trusted consultants of the councilor Stival who have prepared a proposal that, in addition to not pleasing any hunter, runs the risk of compromising the correct management of the fauna heritage in Veneto.
The invitation of the Hon. Sergio Berlato to the Region to withdraw the PFVR proposal was underlined by a loud roar of approval from the thousands of hunters present at the event. Following the intervention of the Hon. Sergio Berlato, the national vice president of Enalcaccia, prof. Pietro Saldan, who gave a detailed but very interesting report on how many steering committees of the ATC and Alpine Districts use the money paid by hunters in a not always transparent way.
In addition to examining and illustrating the contents of the proposal of the Regional Council for a new PFVR, the speakers clamored for the Veneto Region to correctly apply the derogation regime explicitly provided for by Directive 2009/147 / EC, as reiterated from art. 26 of the Community 2013 recently approved by the Italian Parliament. It was also requested that the regulations on stalking for hunting use be simplified swiftly, since the Region, despite the approval of three regional laws and three resolutions of the Executive Council, has not yet managed to find an adequate solution. to this annoying and very onerous problem.
The representatives of the political forces present, both majority and opposition, publicly declared that they were convinced of the goodness of the requests made by the organizers of the event, sharing and making their own the concerns expressed by the numerous hunters present and their representatives. For this reason they have assured their commitment to prevent the approval of the Regional Council's proposal for a new Regional Hunting Wildlife Plan, to restore to hunters the right to hunt in derogation in compliance with Community and national Directives and to find a definitive solution to the problem of stalking for hunting purposes.
