Lorenzo Croce, number one ofAIDAA (Italian Association of Defense of Animals and Environment), is back to talk about hunter priests. Tomorrow, Wednesday 4 October 2017, it will be celebrated Saint Francis and Croce appealed to the priests in possession of a hunting license. The animal rights president invited them to lay down their arms forever, remembering the figure of the Saint and his love for nature.
For the association, the day will be emblematic as regards the contradiction between love for animals and the nature of St. Francis and the priests who use the rifle. The president of AIDAA has several times stigmatized the behavior of those who practice hunting after having celebrated mass. Culled animals are judged to be God's creatures, so hunter priests should ponder and abandon hunting and weapons.
There are about 40 religious who have a rifle license, therefore still in business. Finally, Croce came to criticize even the Pope. According to the president of the association, in fact, Francis should learn from the saint from whom he took his name, despite "From someone who dreamed of being a butcher and eats meat very often we do not expect much consistency with the principles of the Canticle of the Creatures.".
