“After the serious incident that happened last week, when they were found anti-personnel traps in the countryside of Gerolanuova di Pompiano, accompanied by miners' tickets against the hunters, I decided to write to the prefects of Lombardy as a regional councilor. I sent the letter on Monday to the 12 prefectures of the Lombard cities, explaining the facts and underlining as if it were not the first time that hunters have to suffer real provocations and aggressions: 'The phenomenon has now assumed large proportions and it is therefore necessary to guarantee the safety of those citizens, who legitimately exercise a permitted activity and who can no longer tolerate running into violent and disreputable subjects who now constitute a full-blown danger to their physical safety and also for their tightness of nerves.
It is clear that it is only thanks to tranquility and a cool head that hunters are able to maintain that nothing has happened to date '. I am sure that the situation is known to the Prefects, but I still wanted to emphasize this problem, also citing the fact that 'these hunters go around alone and most of these are elderly and therefore in conditions of greater vulnerability '. I then turned to authority to ask for a greater presence of the guardians of public order and also for a prompt response of intervention for cases such as those described above.
Certain that this report will be taken into due consideration by you, I am to offer you my widest availability of institutional collaboration'. It is time to say enough to this harassment and it is time for the institutions to support us ”. This was declared by Barbara Mazzali, councilor of the Brothers of Italy in the Lombardy Region
