Until the approval of the Hunting calendar 2019/2020 of The Tuscan Regional Authority? This is the question that for weeks we have been hearing from hunters who we meet every day in the many initiatives in the area or who simply contact us on social networks. A bad mood, not too hidden, which naturally snakes because, this year, the delay in approving the text appears really unjustifiable. It is true that we still have a very delicate phase behind us, and still not finished, centered on appeals first to the TAR and then to the Council of State, presented by environmental and animal welfare associations on the previous hunting calendar.
Certainly all this does not justify the passing of the weeks waiting for the approval of an instrument, such as the regional hunting calendar, fundamental for affirming the certainty of the right to hunters who have decided or will decide to renew and pay the related taxes and concessions. From the latest news we have received, it seems likely that next week, finally, the 2019/2020 regional calendar will be approved by the Regional Council. A final confrontation with the hunting organizations and associations was convened for this purpose by the Councilor Marco Remaschi for next Friday 19 July. As far as we are concerned, the proposals presented and formalized for some time will remain unchanged.
Not only; we also want to clarify immediately that any proposals for the reduction of some huntable species that seem to be in limbo today following the Circular of the Ministry of the Environment to the Regions. Our reference goes naturally to the species Pochard, Lapwing and from some indiscretion and rumor to the Fighter. No technical-scientific motivation would be justifiable for this possible reduction fromlist of huntable species. As is well known, for Moriglione and Pavoncella the same Ispra has provided, with a written opinion, that these species can be hunted simply with any reductions or limitations of game bag. Finally, for the Fighting species, we recall how the hunting calendar of the Tuscany Region has long established both temporal and game bag limitations.
Furthermore, but not least, our position remains for Boar hunting firm and unchanged: no to artifices and absolute opposition to conflicts between various forms of hunting. These and other issues such as the annual game bag of 100 animals for the Skylark species, the maintenance of the date to 31 January for the Woodcock, Wood Pigeon, Turdidae etc. they will be highlighted again at the discussion table scheduled for Friday, with the hope of reaching a shared result in line with the commitments undertaken at the recent Regional Conference on hunting. In this regard, we want to remember how the in-depth work and analysis that the Confederation of Tuscan Hunters is carrying out on individual topics, is materializing these days with a series of high-profile technical-scientific as well as political initiatives.
We would like to remind you that an important conference will be held in Capannoli (PI) next Friday 26 July which will focus on small sedentary game and the challenges on the new Community Agricultural Policy (PAC). Furthermore, on the issues concerning migratory birds, hunting calendars and the important work that is being developed in Brussels on the revision of the Key concepts, a valuable discussion will be held in the conference promoted by the Federcaccia of Pistoia on Friday 19 July in Casalguidi (PT). At that time, Dr. Michele Sorrenti, head of the National Federcaccia Migration Office, will update us on the latest news relating to the revision of the Kc.
