It was one of the brightest hopes of national skeet shooting, the Venetian Mattia Stringhetta, to win the first leg of the Concaverde Winter Challenge, held in Lonato del Garda on the weekend of 27 and 28 October. The winter circuit of the Garda plant, now in its sixth edition, has once again proved to be an excellent way to stay close to skeet shooting enthusiasts, managing to keep the temperature high even when the thermometer drops.
Despite the annoying rain and sudden gusts of wind, Mattia Stringhetta managed to close with a respectable result, with 48 crumbled targets out of the 50 scheduled, placing behind him, at a distance of one target, multi-decorated shooters such as Albert Campanian e Paul Cavarzan.
Given last year's high approval rating, the circuit formula has remained unchanged for 2018 as well. Sunday 5 December. Up for grabs will be the registration to the Qatar Open Shotgun 16 and a stay in Doha for two people. An award that testifies and strengthens the partnership and synergy between two of the most renowned international structures in promoting the sport of skeet shooting worldwide.
Returning “home” to Concaverde, the final of the social championship was held on Sunday 28 October Trojan Challenge. The coach and shooter won the award as best overall shooter Robert Armani, while to win the final and excel among the shooters of the cat. Excellence was Luciano Minelli. The other “social” champions were: Alberto Chiampan for the 1st category; Giovanni Gobbo for the 2nd category; Armando Caramaschi for the 3rd category; Giacomo Galesi for the veterans and Federico Rosa for the masters.
