There are really a few days to go until the dog competition organized by the section of San Bonifacio (province of Verona) of the Italian Federation of Hunting. We are talking about the rehearsal that will take place on Sunday 15 May at the "Valfonda" Dog Training Camp which is located in the Venetian locality: the initiative was designed for pointing dogs, while the wild involved will be partridge or quail. In any case, the shot is not expected.
Furthermore, there will be four categories, namely "Free English", "Free Continental", "English Hunters" and "Continental Hunters". The organizers have decided to reserve rich prizes for the first five classified subjects of each single category (with single shift). Among other things, there will also be a food stand for the refreshment of the participants. The quails can be placed in the competition ground on the order of the judge, who will then check them: they must obviously be suitable for evaluating the work of the pointing dog.
The gait object of the judgment must respect the standards of the breed in the various phases of the test, as well as the speed must depend on the terrain, the density and behavior of partridges or quails (in this case). Finally, a spontaneous consent (that on command is tolerated, as long as it is performed promptly) and the constant connection (dog obedient to the handler's calls).
