Thomas Foti, regional councilor ofEmilia Romagna (FdI-An) has presented a question to invite the Region itself to revoke the ban on the use of lead ammunition. In the document it was mentioned how theEuropean Chemicals Agency clarified that lead can be used without limits and without authorization. Furthermore, in 2010 theEuropean Food Safety Authority highlighted a low dangerousness of lead with regard to human health and the food consumption of meat.
Conversely, grains, vegetables, and tap water contribute most to this exposure. In Emilia there were two determine in 2016 and this year to reaffirm the exclusive use of lead-free ammunition to cull the heads of wildlife. According to Foti, the Region would have introduced the ban in an arbitrary way, also because there is the awareness that the Ministry will not answer the question as the technical table is still active.
Moreover, alternative materials have not surpassed scientific texts, consequently they cannot be described as better than lead in terms of the environment and health. Foti also asked the Region whether or not the great danger in hunting of the use of "hard" monolithic ammunition. Finally, revocation is the query request based on all these elements.
