The Enalcaccia Campania Hunting Association defends hunters against animal rights activists in the proceedings against last season's Hunting Calendar.
On 6 June last, at the III Section of the TAR of Naples, the hearing on the appeal presented by the Association of victims of hunting against the Campania Region, for the annulment of the Resolution of the Regional Council of Campania n. 361, of 17 July 2012, concerning the approval of the hunting calendar for the 2012-2013 season. Only Enlcaccia was present at the hearing for the discussion, which appeared in court in order to protect the interests and rights of the hunters, and which, therefore, alone, was able to expose to the judges all the reasons for opposition to the appeal. , in order to be able to confirm for the next few years the closure of the woodcock hunt on 20 January and not on 31 December as requested by the appellant. Both the hunting victims association and the Campania Region were absent, which therefore did not participate in the discussion before the Administrative Judges of the III Section of the Naples TAR, neglecting to support their positions. In particular, the appellant pleaded the constitutional illegitimacy of art. 1, paragraph 19, of the Regional Law n. 14, of 4 August 2011, in the part in which it provides that the hunting calendar is valid for three years. Then, he asked for the cancellation of the aforementioned Resolution (hunting calendar) in the part in which it provided for the closure of the woodcock hunt on January 20 and the seasonal bag of larks at 70 units for each hunter.
Theses devoid of any foundation, in the opinion of Avv. Cristiana Torre, defender of Enlcaccia, who explained how the three-year validity of the Hunting Calendar does not in any way preclude judicial protection; as well as, the compatibility of the closure of the woodcock hunt on January 20, as this term falls largely within the one established by Law 157/92 and in the Guidelines indicated by Ispra to all Regions, based on scientific studies, demonstrating as in almost all the regions of Italy, the closure is scheduled for January 20 and, in some regions even January 31. Finally, even the 70-unit game bag of larks is compatible with the numbers indicated in numerous scientific documents.
