THEHigher Institute for Environmental Protection and Research (ISPRA) he gave his favorable opinion to the hunting of selzone to wild boars in the territory of the Aquila ATC. The opinion had been asked regarding the hunting season 2017-2018. Both the consistency and the structure of the abatement plan presented by theTerritorial area of hunting Abruzzese were deemed acceptable.
The L'Aquila area has not reported significant damage with regard to the damage caused by ungulates, therefore the management of the population is used exclusively for hunting exploitation. The plan must take into account the times indicated in the guidelines provided for the management of ungulates, cervids and bovids, i.e. from April 15th to June 30th for all classes, except for adult females. The latter can instead be demolished from 1 October to the following 31 January.
As ISPRA itself explained, just in case they were impacts of species on the agricultural sector or a greater number of days could be acceptable to biodiversity as regards the harvesting period. The final recommendation of the Institute is to monitor in detail also the phenomenon of damage caused by wild boars, in order to guarantee a immediate management response any increases in impacts that can be attributed to this species.
