Simone Tofani, provincial president of the Federcaccia of Florence, responded to a series of press attacks against the association. Here are his words: “It is not my habit nor of the Federcaccia I represent, to answer instrumental controversy, but the claims appeared on the "Filo del Mugello" of 1 August, certainly deserve an answer and perhaps such articles arise precisely from the fact that the membership campaign at the gates, as every year, awakens the appetites of those who, having no line or thought, live and feed themselves at the source of the controversy. Sleazy speculators, professionals in the art of divide the hunting world and the hunters, for the sole purpose of deriving some miserable advantage, from the cloud of smoke artfully created from time to time, to hide one's inability and narrow populism.
All this is the characterizing trait of some hunting associations with the clear aim of attacking the Federcaccia and its management team. Unfortunately for them, they will be disappointed with the many expectations they have set for themselves; in fact, the Federcaccia, in addition to having a noble and transparent history behind it, is even more so today, the Association that brings as a dowry the political and cultural baggage on which to build the future of the hunting and hunting world in this country. In fact, it is no coincidence that Federcaccia certainly cannot carry out the job that the "fruit flies", very present in this hot summer, can afford. History and responsibility impose on Federcaccia the "duty" of a true representation of hunters; a representation that knows how to express a project, give solutions to problems, ensure assistance and services up to date. For these reasons, for years, thanks to the thousands of partners it represents, it has equipped itself with a strong organizational network, offices, personnel and professional technical skills, which make it today as yesterday, the undisputed point of reference and processing in the panorama. national hunting.
Yes you got it right: we spend the money of our members to make qualified representation, to give them services, not to give bags and flags in the magnificent stands full of gadgets but empty of ideas and proposals. It is in this context, and certainly not for economic reasons, that for some time it has acquired a company in Tuscany, such as agricultural, artisan and commercial associations and some trade unions., to provide qualified services and to support, also from a managerial and operational point of view, what were and will remain its own associative purposes. A modern association in full compliance with the law can and must set itself the goal of fielding quality and professionalism: it is with this spirit that the Company mentioned in the article has operated over the years thanks to the contribution of technicians and qualified and honest professionals, to whom all our esteem and trust goes today as yesterday. A company that has never transferred economic resources to Federcaccia's coffers at any level, both regional and provincial and that has obtained assignments and assignments, winning public tenders, including European ones, and in competition with other companies and equally qualified professionals. All in the utmost transparency, without subterfuges or direct assignments.
Who today intends to exploit an investigation to hit the heart of a story and make judgments on people again before the investigations themselves are concluded, not only forgets the principle of presumption of innocence that is the basis of our code, but stands as Supreme Judge without obviously being one. But it is perhaps useless to give explanations to those who do not have a serious view of the processes and perhaps to propose something they limit themselves to copying the task already carried out by others; Federcaccia cannot by its nature place itself on the level of those who live in the arrogance of “bocio”, sad in the murky slander and have a perennial need of the enemy to prove their existence and perhaps “steal” some tiles. The profound difference and the infinite diversity that distinguishes us lies precisely in this essential point; Federcaccia works every day to give meaning and a thought to hunting, it spends all its energy on uniting the hunting world and not on dividing the hunters, it works hard to re-establish an attractive project, which will motivate the many disappointed, bring young people closer and make people understand the true meaning of hunting. I also want to explain the mystery that assigns the representatives in the organs of the ATC to Federcaccia.
Being present with their managers in the management committees of the Florentine ATCs in a number greater than that of other AVs derives from the number of members and from the law 3/94 which in a specific article regulates the composition of the Committees themselves based on the numbers of members: the Association that on the "Filo del Mugello" asks for its own representation, will have it when its numbers they will allow it. In democracy, numbers matter and not, as artfully insinuates, out of troubled interests, but for the right purpose of representativeness; but I understand, reading the laws is more tiring than backbiting. Federcaccia then, specifically, with a strong sense of responsibility, when the President of ATC 4 Fi Nord, expression of Coldiretti, resigned (mid-May) precisely to avoid problems for all hunters (associated or not with the FIdC) in view of the preparation of the new hunting season, decided to ask its representatives for a greater commitment to the Committee and hence the FIdC Presidency in the ATC 4 Fi Nord was born. The ambitious and necessary project of the Confederation of Tuscan Hunters starts and strengthens from the stated foundations, to which Federcaccia, ANUU, ARCT and EPS adhere, well over 60% of practicing hunters in the Tuscany Region and in the future of the creation of a new and authoritative common entity at national level. We put our energies and skills to give strength and substance to vital themes for hunters; we do not live to generate stupid competition, nor to sell off insurance cards. There is still a long way to go, but we are certainly on the way in the right direction.
The hunters who even in these hours frequent our offices and talk and discuss concrete problems with our managers know very well who to stay with; they are discussing the positive outcome of the CCT meeting on fixed stalking; they are discussing the distribution and collection of hunting cards in the Municipality of Florence and in others in the metropolitan city only by members of the FIdC and Anuu; the introduction of pheasants into the Territory for Scheduled Hunting in addition to those of the ATCs charged to the FIdC (710 animals out of a total of 900 by the HS in the FI North ATC alone); the pheasant project we are carrying out in the ZRC Elzana (ATC 4 Fi Nord) in collaboration with the School of Biology of the University of Florence, starting from the genotype of pheasants caught on the Island of Pianosa; the reservation service at the CUP for medical examinations relating to the renewal of the firearms permit, obviously without forgetting the daily assistance to all the hunters that Federcaccia collaborators offer in all the territories of the Tuscany Region. We are working for hunting and for all hunters; perhaps someone did not realize that for the first time in parliament an intergroup was created in which parliamentarians from all political groups belong, admittedly anti-hunt; we want to defend the hunt from real enemies; we do not seek enemies among the hunters. We gladly leave this masochistic exercise to others ”.
