Federparchi: Federparchi Assembly in Carovigno: two intense days of work (17 - 18 June).
As part of the Federparchi National Assembly to be held on 17 and 18 June in Puglia, in Carovigno, at the Torre Guaceto Marine Area, topics of vital importance for the future of Italian Parks will be addressed.
The President of the Puglia Region, Nichi Vendola, the Regional Councilor for Urban Planning and Territory, Angela Barbanente, and the local Authorities were invited to participate to meet the institutional representation of the Italian Protected Areas, gathered for the traditional annual meeting. he will discuss environmental management and the difficulties he is currently experiencing in our country; of the necessary relaunch of the regional and national systems of the Parks and of the evaluation of the practices in place and of the proposals to improve them, already put forward with the documents approved during the simultaneous sessions of the Councils, held on 24 May last.
The collaboration between Regions and Federparchi is essential to carry out effective governance, conservation of biodiversity and promotion of sustainable tourism. The comparison with the more attentive and moving realities, which are experimenting positive actions, such as those taking place in Puglia, wants to help accompany the process of reorganization and redefinition of the role of the Parks.
The thorny issue of funding will also be addressed at the meeting dedicated to Marine Protected Areas, which will be held on Friday 17 at 11 and which will see the presence of Dr. Maria Carmela Giarratano representing the Ministry of the Environment and the Protection of the Territory and the Sea.
Another important appointment is scheduled starting at 16.30 pm on the same day 17, with a seminar dedicated to social budgets with the theme "Realizing to give an account: innovative management, communication and participation tools" with interventions by Cristiana Rogate (Refe) " The environmental, economic and social value generated by the Parks System: towards a consolidated balance sheet ”and by Chiara Matteazzi (President of the Euganean Hills Regional Park) on the“ 2006-2010 Social Report: the experience of the Euganean Hills ”. The seminar will be preceded, at 15 pm, by a guided tour of the Dentice di Frasso Castle and will be followed, at 19 pm, by the opening of the Slow Food Italy national holiday, at Masseria Morrone, Ostuni.
The ordinary meeting, reserved for Federparchi members, will be held on the morning of the 18th, starting at 9,30. At the end, the Federparchi-Albatros Memorandum of Understanding will be signed for the underwater accessibility of the blind in protected areas.
On Sunday 19 June there will be a guided tour of the protected marine area of Torre Guaceto.
