Lorenzo Bertacchi, number one of the Provincial Federcaccia of Bergamo, commented what was published by the Eco di Bergamo in recent days, specifically the article entitled "Animals on the roads, there are those who forage wild boars on purpose". The association took note of yet another attack on the world of hunting, accused of favoring the presence of ungulates and to hinder its containment.
The discovery of a shepherd did point the finger at hunters, but Federcaccia Bergamo recalled how it is a method used by provincial guards to keep the wild away and have a better chance of culling. Furthermore, it could very well be the feeder of a poacher interested in killing many wild boars. They did not even like the words of the deputy mayor of Solto, Tino Consoli, who is a hunter. Consoli wondered why only the male specimens during the jokes, avoiding the pregnant females.
According to Bertacchi, the Municipality could ask the Alpine Hunting District “Prealpi Bergamasche” for the data of the killing and the biometric surveys. During the hunting activity in fact, 270 male and 260 female boars were killed, without forgetting that in December it is not possible to establish whether she is pregnant or not. This lack of objectivity has prompted Federcaccia to invite members to refrain from any control intervention, also because it is considered unacceptable that the members themselves participate as volunteers of a service from which a criminal complaint can arise. Finally, legal proceedings will be taken against any defamation against hunters.
