La Federcaccia from the Marche region thus responds to the accusations made by anti-hunt world to the latest initiatives of the Region: "On the" Carlino "on Sunday 2 January an article was published in which the animal rights associations of the Marches try to pass for alleged gifts to hunters made by diverting public funds, two amendments to the regional budget. The reality, once again, is very different from complaints in an anti-venatorial key and above all, contrary to what one would like to believe, it has no cost for the citizens of the region. In one case it is in fact simply a shift of resources, 30.000 euros from one chapter to another (Transfers to ASUR for health monitoring of wild ungulates - art. 27 bis LR 7/95 ") without additional figures being allocated to those already committed and which will be used" in order to promote , favor and guarantee the implementation of the inspection on all animals killed to protect public health, food safety and contain the risk of zoonosis ".
That is for the public health of the citizens of the Marche region. The second amendment establishes instead the exemption of the regional tax for hunting for the first two years of license. Here the figure is not indicable with confidence, but realistically we are still talking about a few thousand euros. Even these, like the previous ones, do not fall into the pockets of the Marche, because - this is not said by the anti-huntsmen - every year the hunting citizens of the Marche pay to the Region 1 million and 800 thousand euros which should, the conditional is a must, be used only in a specific chapter intended for hunting wildlife management.
In short, it is hunters' money and it does not seem strange to us that the Region has decided to allocate a derisory percentage compared to the total in the support young people who intend to start practicing this activity, as happens in many other European states. Having explained that no "Befana" arrived in advance, it is perhaps worth remembering that on that same issue of the newspaper there was another article, where the growing presence of ungulates, wild boars in primis, and the associated risks not only for farms but for the safety of citizens was complained, in fact the accident reported in the news took place in a stretch of road falling within an oasis of protection where the hunting ban and the accident rate is much higher than where hunting is free.
It is proved by the data held by theATC PS1, that the protocol developed by the Region is bearing fruit, in fact by comparing the same period, this hunting season twice as many wild boars were taken compared to the previous one, so it is clear that the hunting collection is the only working method to contain the number. In another newspaper, the data for the three-year period 2017-20 of the Region were reported, they complain: 810 thousand euros of damage from wildlife, 1,4 million euros to compensate for accidents, 620 thousand euros of damage from wild boar, 1004 in average companies affected by damages. To all this, hunting and hunters, contrast not only their activity during the months of the hunting season, but selective and containment interventions, as well as prevention and restoration, throughout the year, through the commitment of trained and prepared volunteers. Free, at no cost to the community So basically, what are the anti-huntsmen talking about? " (Source: Hunting Federation).
