La The Tuscan Regional Authority released the press release to clarify which area will be closed to hunting on the Pisan Mountains after the terrible incendio doloso which has developed in recent days. The woods affected by the fire will be forbidden to hunters and the provision will also affect neighboring ones for the first time, to be precise. the areas where the fire did not reach. As the governor Enrico Rossi explained, this is a useful measure to safeguard the fauna that has taken refuge in safer woods.
The ban on hunting will last until the next one 31st January, therefore until the end of the 2018-2019 season. A single exception can be read in this press release, namely the taking of ungulates which is still authorized in the protected range. The Regional Councilor for Agriculture, Marco Remaschi, explained all the details of the provision.
The most affected area is that of the municipality of Calci, as well as Vicopisano, Buti and Cascina. Two numbers help to understand the scope of the event: last year 2200 hectares of forest burned throughout Tuscany, the fire of recent days alone has affected an area, detected with satellite systems, of 1388. According to the councilor himself, it was an "extraordinarily important" impact.
