The first edition of the full silhouette shooting Grand Prix with hunting rifle brought together about fifty shooters from all over Italy, on 29 August with Italians struggling with the return or departures for the last holidays, in the field of the Apd Sporting club Piancardato di Collazzone in the province of Perugia. A demanding competition, also from an organizational point of view, but above all the first outing of the Italian Outdoor Shooting Federation which aims to launch this experimental discipline in the riverbed and with the approval of the Italian Shooting Federation.
The “integral” formula provides 40 very different shots with the rifle: 10 shots to the running boar at 50 meters in two rounds; 10 to 200 meters on a fixed chamois target with only the front support (2 test shots), in two rounds; 20 in the four posture from the pole, lying down, with alpenstocks and standing braced on fixed targets in the form of roe deer, sitting fox, chamois and wild boar. Production weapons, with weight limits.
Success is measured by participation, but also by commitment and technical results: Gianluca Anzuini, shooter from Anzio (Rome) former Italian champion in combined shooting, won with 371 points in front of the trio of Lucanians of the Sabia family, belonging to the Apd Outdoor shooting of Basilicata: Giambattista (363), Fabiano (355) and Maurizio (344). Good result for Rocco di Stefano, who with 344 won the Senior qualification (for 61 years). Gianina Mihai won the women's ranking with 110 points at home. As a team, Basilicata 1 won with the three Sabia and Biagio Schettino (1062) on Basilicata 2 (1007), Liguria (885), Lazio (883), Basilicata 3, Umbria 1 and Umbria 2. As usual, the targets of the current wild boar were decisive.
A category has also been foreseen selecontrollers, to subscribe to which, the Fitav card was not necessary. The prize money is rich in cash, almost 4.000 euros, a Contessa lens and a quick release with slide by lot for the selecontrollers. Other prizes offered by Enalcaccia, Liberacaccia, Federcaccia and Arci Caccia.
The hunting associations are very interested in the experimental discipline which has all the credentials to be able to approach hunters. Present were Marcello Spigarelli, vice president of Federcaccia Umbria, and Osvaldo Veneziano, vice president of Fondazione Una, former president and national director of Arci Caccia, who brought greetings from Luciano Rossi, president of Fitav. "This race is an important step forward", Veneziano declared, «That should not be wasted in order to finally start a path of unification between the shooting federations which, for the interest of the entire sector, have the duty to unify resources and give oxygen to the shooting ranges which are fundamental for promoting sport. I hope that this first step will indicate the direction and facilitate access to the shooting ranges and disciplines like this for those 400 or more holders of rifle ports who intend to keep in business to preserve it ".
Very satisfied the coordinator of the Italian Outdoor Shooting Federation, Carlo Mattiello and the deputy coordinator, Alfonso D'Amato, who have already identified the improvements to be made to the organization of the race and which will be operational from the next, scheduled to Leonessa di Melfi (Pz), at the Apd Outdoor Shooting Basilicata for next September 19th.
