Fishing: Conference organized by the Liguria region in Mondopesca to deepen the new regional legislative framework and the effects on activities related to the fishing world.
Among the "Ligurian" events of Mondo Pesca is scheduled tomorrow, Saturday 23 November, (starting at 1030 in the space of the Teatro dell'Acqua, the conference "The Strategic Future of Sport Fishing and Underwater Activities Socio-Economic Activities" which will at the table of the speakers representatives of Arci Pesca, Ministry of Agricultural Policies, University of Bologna and Federicoopesca- Confcooperative. of sport fishing in Liguria and underwater activities, from the springs to the sea as a tourist enhancement of the territory ".
The picture of the sector shows a decrease in sport and recreational fishing activities in inland waters in the last decade which has led to a strong reduction in the influx of the recreational and tourist segment in inland areas and a consequent progressive abandonment of the hinterland. To stop this negative phenomenon, the Liguria Region passed in 2014 a law aimed at using sport fishing in inland waters as an element of union between the tourist activities of the coast and the productive realities of the hinterland.
The objective of the regional law is to create a network of local producers, products and services in the rural area in order to develop incoming by introducing a series of strategic and innovative elements ranging from the elimination of the fishing license to the increase of resources in favor of the sector with incentives for associations with fishing incentives with temporary permits, events of a tourist, social and charitable nature as well as with the strengthening of targeted research. Especially in terms of strategic research, the Department intends to initiate research aimed at improving the habitat of inland waters, favoring the natural recovery of species of interest to fishing and beyond.
“The Strategic Future of Sport Fishing and Underwater Activities as Socio-Economic Activities” assumes particular importance also for the contributions that the various speakers will bring, true experts in their respective sectors. Mauro Bocaccio (head of the press office of the Liguria region) will act as moderators and, starting at 10.30 am, the following will intervene: Matteo Rossi (Councilor for inland water fishing, Liguria Region) on "The new law of sport fishing in Liguria and underwater activities, from the springs to the sea as a tourist enhancement of the territory ", Fabio Venanzi (President of Arci Pesca Fisa) on" Sport fishing and underwater activities, a national strategic reality ". This will be followed by talks by Michele Cappiello (Secretary of Arci Pesca Fisa) with “The association towards a future of sport fishing” and Aldo Tasselli (Centro Studi Arci Pesca Fisa) to illustrate the project “Sport fishing in the fish economy”. This will be followed by Oliver Mordenti (University of Bologna) who will propose the results of the market research "Sport fishing in the fish economy" while Augusto Comes (Head of Ligurian Federcoopesca - Confcooperative) will talk about "Professional fishing and sport fishing, which synergies for tourism?" . The final intervention is entrusted to Riccardo Rigillo (DG Sea Fishing and Aquaculture - MIPAAF) who will illustrate “The fisheries policy in the European strategy with particular reference to sport fishing in national obligations”. At the end of the debate the conclusions will be entrusted to Mirvana Feletti (Head of Sport Fishing for the Liguria Region).
