Now everything is ready for the 33rd edition of the Festival of Hazelnut and Wild Boar is will take place in Gaiano, in the province of Salerno. The gastronomic event will officially begin Thursday August 31 and it will end Sunday September 3, therefore it will be four days dedicated to taste and traditions. As happens every year, by now, the protagonists of the event will be wild boar meat, cooked in a mistral way by an expert chef, and hazelnuts, typical of the hills of this area of Campania.
The Cultural Circle "Gerardo Pecoraro" has promoted the event and there is great enthusiasm in starting a new adventure. The festival will undoubtedly be characterized by passion and enthusiasm, without forgetting the news and new services for all fans. This manifestation is a unique opportunity to try the ancient recipes that have been handed down by grandmothers: in particular, one of the most popular is undoubtedly the wild boar rib with sauce.
The dish is part of the so-called "poor tradition" (in Gaiano the ribs are called Costa Ricans), but it is tasteful and substantial, since it is prepared with extra virgin olive oil, red wine, chilli and tomato. Finally, these ribs are served on an earthenware pan together with bread and wine.
