Hunting and Dogs: Cesenatico, at the 4th Free Hunting Festival, Bartolini receives protests from hunters against the Region for the new measures concerning hunting and truffle dogs.
The Regional Councilor Luca Bartolini participated last Sunday in Cesenatico, at the Agip colony, in the closing day of the 4th edition of the Festa della Libera Caccia, a gastronomic festival for charity that, despite the bad weather, attracted thousands of people to talk about hunting and to taste the delicious fish in the pan offered to the participants. Bartolini was literally stormed by hunters eager for more information on the new LR 3/2013 which imposes new measures on hunting and truffle dogs kept outdoors. In this circumstance, he took the opportunity to illustrate the bill presented by him last week in order to redress the absurd decisions taken by the Emilia-Romagna Regional Council last March. In fact, the regional law no. 17 “Regulations for the protection of animal welfare”, was recently amended by the regional law of 2005 March 5, n. 29. "This last regional law - declares Luca Bartolini - has introduced a norm which, as I have shown in my public interventions in recent days, puts at risk the possession and possession of pets".
"Since there are few lucky citizens who have 150 square meters of fenced area for walking, with the new law 3/2013 20 square meters of kennel per dog plus another 10 square meters for each additional dog are required when a standard double room where two adults sleep is only 14 square meters. Without thinking about the urban constraints that many municipalities impose with boxes of this size, even providing for biological pits and degreasing wells - adds Bartolini -. As Giulio Andreotti, recently deceased, said, "thinking badly makes you sin but almost always gets it right".
This is why in total dissent with the promoters and also with his own group, after having voted against the various amendments of the environmentalists, Bartolini explained that he left the classroom at the time of the vote of the Regional Law 3/2013 also known as the law remove chains from dogs. As often happens in this Region, in the face of a law that can be shared in the title, the animal-environmentalists have then stuffed it with laces and ties that risk causing massacres of fines by GEV, CFS or Provincial or Municipal Guards in the coming months or, even worse, to dramatically increase the cases of renunciation of ownership of dogs and consequent delivery of the dog to a kennel taking care of its maintenance, not being able to have the necessary space that in Emilia-Romagna, the only case in Italy it is superior to that of a standard double room.
This rule, wanted by the animal rights lobby, is a forcing that not only hurts common sense but puts at risk the detention, adoption and trade of dogs by the citizens of Emilia-Romagna who would find themselves forced to get rid of the dogs. given the impossibility of holding them ". Bartolini concludes: “My proposal for a regional law, therefore, which consists of a single article, is expressly aimed at repealing the senseless letter f bis) from paragraph 2, of article 3 of regional law no. 5 of 2005. In this way, our Region would return to realign itself to the tables already in force before the law which refer to a State Regions agreement (circular 7/1999) applied by all Italian Regions. Bartolini finally explained, that if his bill is approved, all owners of dogs held outdoors, in particular farmers, hunters and truffle hunters, who were in the crosshairs of animalist fundamentalism, will only be able to breathe a sigh. of relief ".
