Francesco Bruzzone, Chairman of the Regional Council of Liguria, recalled the activation within the time limits established by law of all the procedures to apply the hunting notwithstanding in small quantities, also respecting Community legislation. The number one of the legislative body, however, underlined the impediment that is not making this hunting possible.
Just to defend their role, the Region presented an appeal to the Regional Administrative Court against ISPRA, asking that the opinion of the Institute be canceled, given that it does not even provide technical advice on the small amount. Bruzzone then underlined the fact that ISPRA has failed to comply with the tasks entrusted by national law, given that the opinion provided it has no scientific background.
The appeal aims to make the judges understand that Community law was not applied, as well as the national one, without forgetting the excess of power of which the Institute would become the protagonist. The latter limited himself to declaring the concept of the small quantity not applicable, avoiding to specify the right method to arrive at the required calculation. The president regrettably supported the appeal to the TAR Liguria, the hope is that the paralysis in the matter of exceptions will be put to an end.
