It comes back to talk after several weeks of hunting in Sardinia. In particular it was Nanni Lancioni, regional councilor of the Sardinian Action Party to launch an appeal in this regard. The Region knows how island hunters feel penalized due to the reduced hunting calendar. The season could be extended until February, but the withdrawals may concern migratory species such as thrushes, blackbirds, woodcocks and snipe only until the middle of this month of January.
This is why Lancioni himself called for a new programming of Sardinian hunting, addressing an urgent question to the Councilor for Defense of the Environment. The start of the calendar could be postponed and the closing should take place in February, here are the two ideas to be developed. The councilor also recalled how the new guidelines approved by the Sardinia Region have imposed on hunters self-managed areas, facing the censuses of Sardinian hares and partridges and paying for the various obligations.
A further suggestion is to recognize a new role for hunters to control the territory. This latter activity would be perfected in the right way during firefighting campaigns and environmental emergencies, guaranteeing the same hunters an active role in the prevention and monitoring of the landscape.
