During the meeting, the president of the Regional Environment Commission, Donato Pentassuglia (Pd), proposing the re-measurement of the Park in order to extract new areas for hunting, expressly requested, "The boundaries of the Parco delle Gravine are not certain, the Province must free the areas to be allocated to other activities that are not part of it in order to fully clarify and to include hunting activities within the legal parameters. (inhibited at 66%, instead of being included between 20 and 50% as required by 157). This latter problem must not be a partial positioning of hunters, willing to be sentinels of the territory as environmentalists and farmers in a logic of consultation in order to arrive at solutions first ”.
On the issue Michele Lisi of Anlc stated, "It is a matter of grasping a proposal that comes from below and from those who know the peculiarities of the Park area and in a year and a half of time, with three representatives of the Ionian area to the Region and Provinces such as Pentassuglia, Nardoni and Scalera, it is finally possible to restore centrality to the proposals of the Taranto Murgia area in collaboration with the mayors and with all the protagonists of environmental protection, for a "shared sustainable program" ".
Furthermore, among the proposals under discussion, those supported by the provincial president Anlc, Michele Bufano, and by the vice-president of the Beccacciai Association, Giuseppe Raho, on the expansion of the regional hunting calendar.
