Il Regional Administrative Court of Abruzzo rejected most of the Federcaccia appeals on the hunting calendar. The judges intervened again on the text after the WWF, ISPRA and the Region had formed together. The hunting association intended to increase the hunting periods as regards different species: we are talking about quail, teal, wigeon, coot, moorhen, mallard, gargane, snipe and lapwing, woodcock, cesena, song thrush and redwing.
With regard to reintegration of codons, shovels, pochards and whisks in the Abruzzo calendar, on the other hand, FIDC has renounced to go ahead, also because the Region had done so independently and without waiting for the court. However, the WWF said it regretted the reintegration of some huntable species, underlining how the Abruzzo Region has accepted in advance the requests made by hunters.
Tufted duck and fighter are however off the calendar and the promise of the environmentalist association is to work to exclude the two species with a new appeal. For the Abruzzo hunting they look forward intense periods in which to try to face the attacks of those who are opposed to hunting, in particular from a legal point of view.
