Hunting: Umbria, the ass. Cecchini illustrates the draft of the 2013-2014 Regional Hunting Calendar at the meeting of the FV Regional Council; pre-opening on September 1st and general opening on September 15th.
The councilor for hunting of the Umbira Region, Fernanda Cecchini, in this morning's meeting illustrated the draft of the Hunting Calendar valid for the 2013/2014 Season to the Regional Faunal Hunting Council: "The proposed 2013-2014 hunting calendar is based on than that of the season just ended and represents an advanced synthesis between the different needs of all the actors who revolve around the hunting world ”.
Present at the meeting were the representatives of the hunting, agricultural and environmental associations, of the ATC, Territorial Hunting Areas, and of the Provinces of Perugia and Terni. “The proposal - added Cecchini - represents a necessary point of balance between the requests and needs of the different subjects, to which the work we are carrying out in defining the Regulations acts as a counterpoint, with particular reference to that of wild boar hunting".
Continuing the commissioner explained "In the proposal we have tried to combine the protection of the wildlife population, in full compliance with national and European regulations, the protection of the environment, biodiversity and the agricultural world. But we also intended to support the legitimate exercise of an activity which, despite the decrease in recent years, continues to be practiced in Umbria by a numerically significant part of the population. In fact, there are over 30 thousand Umbrian hunters who have this passion and who contribute, with their presence, to garrison the territory.
"Furthermore - added Cecchini - the hunting activity has important repercussions also on the regional economy, with an induced activity that goes from the hunting faunistic companies, to the agritourisms, to the armories and specialized shops". “With regard to restocking and game - Cecchini then announced - we are about to sign an agreement with the regional forestry agency and the ATCs for the production of game with innovative methodologies in the San Vito in Monte breeding center. This will make it possible to favor the adaptation of the fauna released for repopulation, in particular hares and pheasants ".
The proposed hunting calendar foresees the pre-opening on September 1st, exclusively from stalking, to the teal, garganey, mallard, dove, blackbird, wood pigeon, hooded crow, jay and magpie species, and general opening to all other species on the 15th. September, but not to the wild boar for which the hunting activity will start on October 3, even if the provincial administrations can postpone this date.
Hunting for hare will be allowed from 15th September to 8th December. The selection hunt for fallow deer, roe deer, red deer and mouflon will run from 16 June to 14 July, from 18 August to 2 October and from 1 January to 15 March 2014. The draft, which will collect any requests from the hunting, environmental and agricultural associations and the provinces, will be pre-adopted by the regional council and sent to ISPRA, the Higher Institute for Environmental Protection and Research. It will then be submitted for the opinion of the third Commission of the Regional Council before its final adoption by the Regional Council.
