Two whole days to celebrate worthily pork and wild boar: the fourteenth edition of the Festival to be held in Antillo, in the province of Messina, scheduled from 2 to 3 December. To be precise, the Festival of the Pig and the Boar will take place from 16 to 22 as regards the day of Saturday 2, while Sunday 3 the time of the event will be 10-22.
In Piazza Maria Santissima della Provvidenza space will be given to typical products of this area of Sicily, all organized by the Pro Loco together with the Municipality, without forgetting the participation of the major producers of the place. The list of gastronomic delicacies to eat includes cured meats, porchetta, sausages, pancakes, not to mention the excellent side dishes, such as mushrooms, cheeses and oil. The goal is to spread these products as much as possible, in addition to the revaluation ofpig breeding, in decline but still widespread in Antillo, so much so that it is a fundamental driving force for the economy.
Visitors will also have the opportunity to visit the Agro-Pastoral Museum for free: pig breeding has been going on for centuries and mass breeding existed in the past only in Antillo. Furthermore, until a few decades ago it was held an important Sunday market precisely to promote the best foods obtained from meat processing.
