La Confederation of Tuscan Hunters he commented with an official note on the legislation that will change Law 394 on protected areas which is on its way to the Senate. According to the hunting association, it is a loose cannon capable of complicating the governability of wildlife management. Furthermore, CCT fears an even more dramatic situation regarding the control of ungulates.
For hunting in a general sense, however, one must speak of one "Unjustified subtraction of spaces with a deadweight loss of available land". So far there have been problems with control actions in protected areas, since effective interventions could not be carried out with licensed hunters: the mechanism that must be approved now is even more complex due to the specific procedures, the submission to the opinions of ISPRA and the bureaucracy.
In Tuscany, hunters registered in the Territorial Hunting Area are allowed in the perimeter of which the protected areas are located, which means that they can act residents only. Among other things, even the registered residence in the municipality in which these areas fall is not enough. CCT judged contradictory the text, as well as messed up, therefore asked the Region to make its voice heard to defend its prerogatives.
