Summer is over for more than three weeks: the month of October is in full swing, the climate is still pleasant in Italy, even though temperatures have inevitably dropped. Could all this be enough to curb the demands of animal rights activists and environmentalists? According to the words ofENPA (National Animal Protection Body) the answer is unfortunately negative. The latest statements of this association look like a copy and paste of some weeks ago.
According to the institution, in fact, the situation with respect to the summer would not have changed due to the few rains and the fires that have developed in Liguria. The appeal of the animal rights activists is therefore addressed to the Region, accused of having neglected the indications of the Higher Institute for Environmental Protection and Research (ISPRA) with the opening of the hunting season 2017-2018.
The request of the ENPA is therefore to suspend the hunting of migratory and sedentary fauna in the Ligurian territory, at least until the environmental situation is re-established. Furthermore, the institution believes that this is a duty in the name of all citizens and not just hunters. The association then spoke of hunting repopulation and the death of hunger and thirst of pheasants, partridges and gray partridges, a scenario it had foreseen for some time.
