As reported in his "Cacciapensieri" column by Provincial Federcaccia of Brescia,ISPRA it is trying once again to significantly reduce hunting periods as far as it concerns five important species. The Higher Institute for Environmental Protection and Research is in fact updating the text of the so-called "Key Concepts", so much so that the hunting association spoke a few days ago of a very intense week.
The object of what has been defined as a real "raid" is represented by the cesena, song thrush and redwing, teal and woodcock. The Migratory Birdlife Office of the National Federcaccia through Dr. Sorrenti immediately presented a series of counter-arguments discussed in a meeting between the parties on 17 October at Ministry of the Environment. For the moment, however, it has not yet been possible to arrive at something concrete.
The counter arguments just cited are fundamental for protect the rights of hunters, in the face of much more extensive hunting calendars in all the countries of the Mediterranean basin, as well as the work and research carried out by Federcaccia in recent years. In fact, in these meetings concrete data is needed and certainly not empty words, there is a need for scientific findings, putting aside the flights of fancy.
