La Pian di Spagna and Lake Novate Mezzola Nature Reserve (area that includes the provinces of Como and Sondrio) has updated its management plan, organizing the first conference of VAS, the Strategic Environmental Assessment. Among the various stakeholders present there were also hunting associations, Federcaccia Lecco first of all, which made use of the collaboration ofMigratory Birdlife Office.
The first document is still a draft, but it was still possible to suggest some proposals for better management of the reserve and avoid penalizing initiatives against hunters. In particular, there was talk of an enlargement of the borders of the Lombard reserve, including huntable areas or used for the training of dogs. Then including the “Erbiola” area in the natural area, several could disappear fixed hunting stalks and the current ZAC.
Federcaccia Lecco considers this project groundless, also because the areas are in good condition, even better than those inside the reserve. The hope is that the local populations and other stakeholders. Finally, the Lecco association gave its availability to a series of environmental improvement projects, not to mention the cultural and naturalistic enhancement of the district.
