ANUU Migratoristi provides information on the spring migration pass, “And they pass…”.
It is really right what our old ornithology enthusiasts said about spring migration, namely that even if, during its development, there are days of bad weather, the birds do not know how to stop in order to arrive, as soon as possible, to nesting beaches. Their biological clock, regulated by the quantity of light, pushes the species to return to nest according to dictated rules to which only mother nature can respond.
Although the last days of March 2013 were negative in terms of weather as, moreover, this spring, with winter characteristics, many species with various biological habits are having a positive transition. This is the case of the Garganeys, of the Wigeons and Codons which, together with Song Thrush, at the Fringuello and at the Siskin, are observed in excellent numbers. Swallows and Swifts are returning and together with them also the summers appear patchy among the bushes and the leaves of the still bare trees.
For some species there is a slight delay, while for others the spring migration is normal. And, while the wintering species such as Tordi sasselli, Siskin and Peppole are observed together with the nesting ones, such as the Upupa, the Wryneck and the House Martin, as well as the Prispolone referred to in the FEIN Ornithological Observatory of Arosio on 1 April the first individual in ascent has been ringed, the sky is filled with flights and these are periods where the observation in the field is greatly satisfied by the many species of the Palearctic in movement that fill the territories with various colors and spring songs.
